Dr. LIASU ADEAGBO AHMED
(Medical Director/Chief Executive)
Dr. Liasu Adeagbo was born on 3rd July, in Shaki Oyo State. He completed his primary and Secondary School Education in Shaki between 1967 and 1981 respectively He studied Medicine and surgery at the College Of Medicine, University of Lagos where he obtained his MBBS in 1991. He had his internship programme at the Baptist Hospital Saki between 1991 and 1992, then proceeded to General Hospital Ekot-Ipene in Akwa Ibom state for the mandatory National Youth Service corps which he completed in
1993.
He joined the service of Federal Medical Center Owo on 22nd of June1994 Fellow West African College of Physicians and Fellow of the Medical College of Family Medicine in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Dr. Ahmed was appointed a Consultant Family Physician in the Department of Family medicine, Federal Medical Centre Owo and became the Head of Departments for both the Staff Clinic and Emergency Medical Services in 2009. He became Head of Clinical services of the center in 2014.
Dr. L. A Ahmed was appointed as Medical Director and Chief Executive for term of four year in 2018. He was reappointed for another four year in 2022 by President Mohamed Buhari. He has served on various committee of the Federal Medical Centre Owo including Drug Revolving Fund Committee, Medical Advisory Committee, Ethical Review Committee, Postgraduate Training Committee, Lassa Fever Rapid Response Team Committee, Essential Drug List committee without blemish Dr. Ahmed has several paper sto his credit published in both local and international journals available on different scientific data bases. His interest in lassa fever has led to the establishment of the Lassa fever treatment center with provision of accessible, affordable and qualitative health care services in order to reduce morbidity and mortality
and creation of enabling environment for quality research and training.
